Ayumu Tanaka impulsively abandons the Kendo Club to join the rebellious Shogi Club. Urushi Yaotome, a shogi master and president of the club, is elated at finally having a playing partner. As Ayumu’s upperclassman, Urushi takes it upon herself to guide him in shogi and serve as a role model.
